Biography
Amy is a Global Building Transformation & Adaptive Reuse Leader and Studio Director in Gensler’s San Francisco office, drawing inspiration from place-making through the creative and sustainable evolution of the built environment.
With a background spanning theater set design, fine arts, museum exhibit design, architecture, and interior design, Amy brings diverse experience that yields high value for her clients and teams. In 2024, she was appointed Planning Commissioner for the City and County of San Francisco and is active in ULI's Local Product Council. A well-documented thought leader on downtown revitalization, Amy collaborates with local policy influencers, developers, investors, and building owners, and has been interviewed by The New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, and NBC Bay Area.
I believe design creates a stage for life to unfold, for experiences to be had, and for people to connect. With a background in theater, I've always been drawn to how every space, from a chair to a room to a city, becomes a setting for the human experience.
