Biography
Gurtake is a Design Director and Principal in Gensler's Birmingham office, bringing a passion for design, delivery, and client relations to projects for leading consumer goods, financial services, and technology brands.
Gurtake pairs that enthusiasm with real depth: he prides himself on balancing highly creative, innovative design solutions with an understanding of the local context, as well as his clients' vision, values, and business strategies. A people-first leader, he is impassioned about new talent and focuses on inspiring the next generation to push the boundaries of design and innovation. He also serves on Gensler's Global Inclusion Committee
Design is ultimately about people. What excites me most is creating environments that bring a client’s vision, culture, and aspirations to life while empowering people to do their best work. Great design starts with understanding how people experience space, and the most successful outcomes come from active listening, collaboration and empathy.
