Biography
Kirsten Cessna is the Co-Managing Director for Gensler Austin.
For over 15 years, Kirsten’s career has exemplified her talent for experience-driven design, cultivating client relationships, and business-focused project delivery. Kirsten’s expertise encompasses various project types and scales, including Aviation, Retail, and Workplace clients. She received her Bachelor in Architecture from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Design Philosophy:
“I believe great design is a catalyst for change. Its power is not in the buildings, spaces, or products it creates, but in its ability to shape how people feel, connect, behave, and thrive. The environments we create influence mood, culture, performance, and a sense of belonging. They can spark creativity, foster community, support well-being, and help people become the best version of themselves. In a world increasingly defined by complexity and disruption, design's greatest value is its ability to bring clarity, meaning, and possibility to the human experience.
