Biography
Max Connop leads Gensler’s Aviation Practice in the Asia Pacific and Middle East region, bringing 30 years of global experience designing high-performance airports that improve operations and passenger experience.
A UK-registered architect, Max has led the visioning and design delivery of major airport developments across Asia, including work at Hong Kong International Airport, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, Yantai Penglai International Airport, and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. Known for embedding “green DNA” into every project, he brings a strong focus on sustainability, resilience, and long-term performance. His portfolio spans terminal expansions, intermodal transfer hubs, and APM systems, and his broader experience across infrastructure, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use projects gives him a systems-level view of how airports connect to cities.
My goal has always been to create airports that perform at the highest level while responding to the environmental and cultural context of the communities they serve. Gensler’s commitment to innovation and sustainability provides the perfect platform to reimagine the role of aviation in APME and shape future-ready infrastructure for the region.
