Biography
Tariq Shaikh is a Principal and Co-Managing Director of Gensler’s Middle East offices, leading the delivery of transformative projects across the GCC. With more than 30 years of experience, he is recognized for shaping complex destinations, communities, and mixed-use developments.
Based in Riyadh, Tariq works closely with clients, partners, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects that create lasting value for people, businesses, and cities. His expertise spans mixed-use, retail, residential, workplace, and lifestyle developments. His portfolio includes landmark projects such as The Avenues in Kuwait and Msheireb Downtown Doha. Having worked across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, he brings a global perspective and deep regional knowledge to some of the GCC’s most ambitious development programs.
Great design is about more than creating buildings. It’s about understanding how people live, work, and connect, then translating those insights into places that are resilient, memorable, and uniquely rooted in their context.
