Overview

BAC Honduras reimagines the workplace as a connected, people-centered environment where flexibility, collaboration, and well-being support the future of banking.

Opportunity

BAC sought a workplace that could translate its evolving culture into space while supporting innovation and long-term organizational growth.

As one of Central America’s leading financial institutions, BAC set out to redefine what a banking workplace could be. The new headquarters needed to embody the organization’s people-first philosophy while replacing traditional enclosed offices with an environment that encourages openness, agility, and cross-functional collaboration. Beyond accommodating new ways of working, the project was envisioned as a physical expression of the bank’s transformation, creating a flexible workplace capable of evolving alongside changing business priorities, technology, and employee expectations.

Why This Matters

  1. 01

    Culture in Action

The workplace transforms BAC’s organizational values into daily experiences that strengthen collaboration, trust, and employee engagement across all levels of the organization.

  2. 02

    Designed for Change

Flexible planning allows the headquarters to evolve with future technologies, business strategies, and changing workforce expectations without requiring significant reconfiguration.

  3. 03

    People First

Prioritizing employee well-being creates an environment where comfort, choice, and connection directly support innovation, productivity, and long-term organizational performance.

Every time someone visits the building for the first time, we can’t help but notice the look of amazement, followed by a smile. It’s not only an experience for BAC employees, but for everyone who visits us.

Solution

An interconnected workplace centered around a dramatic atrium creates visual connectivity, encourages movement, and supports a culture of openness and collaboration.

The design organizes the workplace around a seven-story atrium that becomes both the project’s social heart and its environmental engine. Flooding the interior with daylight, the atrium visually and physically connects departments while encouraging spontaneous interaction between teams.

Flexible work settings, collaborative spaces, technology-enabled meeting rooms, and strategically distributed amenities support diverse work styles while reinforcing an organizational culture built around accessibility, transparency, and innovation.

Transforming a conventional corporate workplace into an open environment that strengthens collaboration, well-being, and organizational culture.

The design process focused on aligning spatial planning with BAC’s long-term business transformation. Rather than simply introducing new workplace amenities, the team reimagined circulation, visibility, and collaboration as interconnected experiences. Every design decision — from the placement of the atrium, to the distribution of shared amenities and flexible work settings — supports a workplace where people move naturally, connect frequently, and experience the organization as a unified community.

Impact

The headquarters create a healthier, more connected workplace that reinforces BAC’s culture while supporting innovation, collaboration, and future organizational growth.

Flexible environments, abundant daylight, and connected amenities foster employee well-being while transforming the workplace into a catalyst for collaboration and continuous evolution.

What Changed Because of This

  1. 01

    Employee Experience

Flexible environments empower employees to choose how and where they work, creating greater comfort, autonomy, and engagement throughout the workplace.

  2. 02

    Organizational Culture

Open, connected spaces strengthen collaboration across teams while reinforcing BAC’s vision of transparency, accessibility, and shared purpose.

  3. 03

    Future Readiness

Adaptable planning enables the headquarters to respond efficiently to changing technologies, business priorities, and workforce expectations over time.

Our challenge was to transform employees’ daily experience. We created a dynamic, light-filled environment where the central atrium, open interiors, and connection points on every floor foster collaboration and community while strengthening the company’s culture and bringing its values to life.
