From brief to build: shaped by wind and connected by design, Convergence Hall transforms climate, landscape, and proximity into a platform for innovation.
To realize a new model for innovation, the design team aligned architecture, landscape, and building systems around a single goal: creating meaningful opportunities for connection. The building's porous form responds to the site's climate, using prevailing winds, strategic massing, and landscaped terraces to shape comfortable outdoor environments and encourage movement throughout the campus. Internally, research, incubation, housing, and gathering spaces are vertically integrated through connected neighborhoods that foster collaboration across disciplines. Flexible planning and modular systems ensure the building can evolve alongside changing academic, industry, and community needs.
Contextual Forces in Form-Making
Convergence Hall is the centerpiece of a new 600-acre development with direct access to key industry hubs, serving as a focal point for Utah’s growing innovation ecosystem.
