Bevin Savage Yamazaki

Biography

Bevin is a global leader of Gensler's Culture and Museums practice. She brings a human-centered approach to cultural and mission-based work, creating welcoming spaces that connect institutions with their communities.

With more than 25 years of experience, Bevin has worked with museums, libraries, consulates, foundations, and cultural organizations including the Ford Foundation, the New York Public Library, the New Museum of Contemporary Art, and Dia:Beacon. She is driven by a deep curiosity about the evolving role of museums today, and her research explores how visitor experience and cultural spaces can foster belonging, learning, and exchange. She has lectured at the New Museum, Pratt Institute, NYCxDesign, the New York State Council on the Arts, the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and SXSW, and serves on the board of the Queens Museum. Bevin earned her architecture degrees from the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.

Today’s museums need to offer a range of entry points to ensure equitable engagement for a more diverse audience. They can do this by crafting experiences that feel authentic and encourage self-discovery.
