Biography
Jay is a nationally recognized architect who has led the design of significant academic, civic, cultural, office, athletic, and research facilities throughout Arizona and the Southwest. He is known for contextually responsive architecture rooted in the Sonoran Desert.
For more than 30 years, Jay has earned the trust of clients and the regard of his peers. The AIA has commended his work for integrating architecture with its context, bridging cultural identity, and social and economic challenges within tight budget constraints. He believes the most successful facilities respond directly to their place and community, whether by embracing the character of the region, or by building flexibility into research and academic spaces designed to evolve alongside the institutions they serve. He serves as a guest architectural critic and lecturer, and his work has been published in numerous national and international publications.
