As workplace expectations continue to shift, the Vancouver office needed to support connection, flexibility, and well-being while embodying the firm's culture and commitments. The goal was to move beyond a traditional office environment and create a destination that felt distinctly local yet globally connected. Equally important was creating meaningful opportunities to celebrate Indigenous culture and advance Gensler's commitment to Reconciliation. The resulting design needed to strengthen collaboration, inspire creativity, and foster a strong sense of belonging for employees and visitors alike.

Inspired by the people who use it every day, the workplace celebrates the diversity of Gensler Vancouver through spaces designed for connection, collaboration, and belonging.

The design organizes the office as a journey through Vancouver's identity and Gensler's values. Visitors are welcomed by a striking mural from artists Debra Sparrow and Cole Sparrow-Crawford, which extends through the office to connect people with place and purpose. Collaboration is supported through a variety of settings, from large project rooms to intimate gathering spaces and focused work areas. Material selections inspired by local landscapes reinforce a warm, authentic environment that balances energy with comfort.
