Biography
As a Principal in Gensler’s Chicago office and regional leader of the Government & Defense practice, Brett brings a strategic perspective shaped by decades of experience delivering transformative projects. His work spans complex developments at the intersection of architecture, urbanism, and civic impact.
Brett has led the delivery of some of the most ambitious mixed-use, office, residential, and civic projects in Chicago and around the world, including Lincoln Yards, The 78, the E.M. Dirksen U.S. Courthouse, United Nations Headquarters Geneva, and King Abdullah Economic City. Recognized with the AIA National Young Architect Award, he has held leadership roles with both AIA National and AIA Chicago. A committed advocate for design and community service, Brett has served on boards including the Art Institute of Chicago and continues to support Rebuilding Together through volunteer leadership.
Developing successful, major projects is all about partnership and collaboration. My design process embraces this power by removing ego and striving to discover new outcomes.
