Biography
Duncan is a Principal in Gensler's Los Angeles office and a global leader in the firm's Mixed Use and Retail Centers practice. For more than 30 years, he has shaped some of the world's most influential mixed-use, retail, entertainment, and hospitality destinations, creating places that blend commerce, culture, and community.
Duncan's portfolio spans North America and Asia and includes award-winning developments such as Fifth + Broadway in Nashville, Palisades Village in Los Angeles, River Oaks District in Houston, and COEX in Seoul. As a design leader, Duncan is known for crafting experience-driven environments that help cities evolve and thrive, bringing a rare ability to translate a developer's ambition into a place people want to return to, again and again. That track record with many of the industry's most sophisticated developers has shaped his understanding that a successful mixed-use destination must work on multiple levels: as a sound real estate investment, a distinct cultural identity, and a genuine gathering place for the community it serves.
