Biography
John brings 30 years of experience as an architect, real estate strategist, and planner to his role as Regional Managing Principal for Gensler's Southwest region. He leads clients and teams across six offices in delivering innovative, high-performing design solutions. He serves on Gensler's Management Committee and is invested in the continued renewal of our cities.
A recognized thought leader in office building design and development, John is an advocate for high-performance buildings, repositioning, creative office space, and sustainable urban development.
John believes vibrant downtowns depend on a mix of uses that keep city cores active around the clock, and he has been an active voice in shaping how Los Angeles adapts to that need. He works directly with city leadership and civic organizations to help drive policy and incentives that support adaptive reuse and the conversion of underused office buildings into housing.
Our urban buildings need to evolve with the shifting demands in our cities. Across the Southwest, and especially in downtown Los Angeles, I’m focused on how we can transform underused buildings and urban districts into places that are more relevant, more active, and beneficial to the economic vitality of our city.
