Workplace design can translate an organization’s culture into everyday experiences. For Etsy Mexico, Gensler expressed the company’s values through spaces that celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, community, and meaningful human connection.

Local artisans, designers, and fabricators collaborated throughout the project to create custom furniture, ceramics, millwork, textiles, and architectural elements. Their work helped shape an authentic workplace rooted in Mexico’s creative heritage.

Design that reflects local culture creates stronger connections between people and place. Rather than applying a standardized workplace model, Gensler developed an environment inspired by Mexico’s architecture, craftsmanship, and artistic traditions.

The workplace journey moves from open, collaborative areas to private, focused zones through a central tunnel that highlights spatial and sensory qualities inspired by Mexican architecture. A variety of work settings also supports neurodiversity and multiple modes of collaboration and individual focus.
