Opportunity

Relocating to Fulton Market gave Greenberg Traurig an opportunity to challenge convention and establish a new benchmark for legal workplaces.

After decades in Chicago’s Loop, Greenberg Traurig set out to create a modern workplace aligned with how its people work, connect, and host clients. The move to Fulton Market and into the Gensler-designed 360 North Green presented a unique opportunity to rethink what a premier law firm environment could be. Rather than replicating traditional legal office models, the firm wanted a destination that reflected its family-oriented culture, embraced the energy of the neighborhood, and delivered a workplace experience capable of attracting talent, fostering relationships, and supporting growth.

Solution

Technology, adaptable work settings, elevated amenities, and neighborhood connectivity come together in a law office designed for contemporary practice.

Guided by four key drivers — anchor, shape, engage, and delight — the design creates an environment that supports collaboration, mentorship, focused work, and client engagement. Spread across four floors at 360 North Green, the office blends hospitality-driven amenities, technology-rich work settings, adaptable planning, and distinctive experiential moments. The workplace serves as a center of gravity for employees and clients while embracing the live-work-play character of Fulton Market. Carefully curated environments provide opportunities for social interaction, privacy, professional development, and meaningful connection throughout the workday.

From brief to build: creating a workplace that translates the firm’s values, service model, and evolving workstyles into a new model for legal offices.

Gensler partnered with Greenberg Traurig through a highly collaborative engagement process focused on understanding organizational values, workplace behaviors, client expectations, and long-term goals. Together, the teams identified four core drivers that would shape every design decision: anchor, shape, engage, and delight. The move to Fulton Market became more than a relocation strategy; it offered a platform to reimagine the employee and client experience. Workplace planning, technology integration, service-oriented amenities, experiential graphics, and brand storytelling were woven together to support a cohesive environment.
